It’s Week 3 of the high school football season in Minnesota. Here are what we consider the 10 best games around the state this week:
Princeton vs. Willmar
Willmar lost at home to Marshall last week and needs to get back on track on the road against a 2-0 Princeton team that already has wins over Milaca and DeLaSalle.
Totino-Grace vs. Hutchinson
This could very well be the game of the week as the powerful football schools meet up in Fridley on Friday night. T-G has wins over Fridley and Simley while Hutch has taken down Glencoe-Silver Lake and Delano in dominant fashion.
Blaine vs. Anoka
This is always a great matchup but there is big time intrigue about Anoka since they dumped Champlin Park in Week 1 and followed up with a 20-point win over St. Michael-Albertville in Week 1. Champlin, oh by the way, knocked off Maple Grove last week.
Caledonia vs. Triton

A couple of southeastern Minnesota powers over recent decades go head-to-head. Triton is 2-0 with wins over Maple River and Blue Earth Area and Caledonia is also 2-0. Caledonia has allowed six points through two games and Triton has surrendered just 14 points.
Becker vs. Holy Angels
We’ll find out a lot about Holy Angels (1-1) when they face the 2-0 Becker Bulldogs, who have blown out Hill-Murray and Providence Academy to start the season. Holy Angels is 1-1, having lost to Minneapolis North in its opener.
Bemidji vs. Moorhead
Give credit to Bemidji for hanging tough at Cretin-Derham Hall last week. They lost 14-7 but proved their worth, and now they face a Moorhead squad coming off a tough road trip all the day in the northwest metro against 5A power Rogers.
New London-Spicer vs. Dassel-Cokato
A sneaky-good matchup Friday night between a pair of undefeated teams. D-C has outscored its opponents 96-15 through two weeks.
Minneota vs. BOLD
A small school game as Minneota, known for its incredible passing attack over the years, takes its high-scoring offense on the road to face a 2-0 BOLD team. Minneota has outscored opponents 118-25 and BOLD has outscores its opponents 138-41.
Waconia vs. Mankato West
West dunked on Andover to get to 2-0 last week and now they go to Waconia with hopes of getting to 3-0 and taking command of Section 2-5A.
Wayzata vs. Shakopee (Thurs)
This was a big-time game played Thursday night and Shakopee showed out with a 21-17 victory to improve to 3-0.
