Broadcast legend Pat Summerall passed away Tuesday at the age of 82.
The Minnesota connection?
According to Wikipedia, Summerall and John Madden first teamed up during a Vikings-Buccaneers game in November of 1979. Two years later, they would be paired permanently and become one of the best-known broadcasting teams in sports history.
Madden called Summerall “a card-carrying good guy” in an interview with the Los Angeles Times..
Mike Florio, who writes for NBCSports.com, offers “a blast of nostalgia” for those who might not remember Summerall, offering links to several YouTube posts — including a 1976 Vikings-Rams game which aired on CBS.
We also found this gem: Super Bowl IV, with Summerall teamed with Jack “We’ll see ya tomorrow night” Buck:

As Florio said in his post … enjoy, but don’t spend so much time watching that you get fired.
