This is the seventh anniversary of Kirby Puckett’s death. On March 6, 2006, the Twins’ Hall of Fame center fielder passed away one day after suffering a stroke at his Scottsdale, Ariz., home.
While there are thousands of clips, photos and articles celebrating what Puckett meant to baseball and the Upper Midwest, we found a quiet moment between the ballplayer and CBS sports reporter Pat O’Brien.
It’s a clip that aired before Game 7 of the 1991 World Series, when O’Brien visited Puckett at his home that morning. It’s at the 1:20 mark in the video below:
