The Minnesota Timberwolves made Malik Beasley their first move in free agency, reportedly agreeing to a four-year, $60 million deal per Stadium’s Shams Charania.

Beasley joined the Timberwolves last February and performed well. Beasley, who will turn 24 later this month, averaged 20.7 points per game in 14 games for the Wolves and shot 42.6% from beyond the arc.
Despite Beasley being a perfect fit for the Timberwolves offense, he comes with some baggage. Beasley was arrested on Sept. 26 and later charged with felony drugs and weapons charges. According to the police report, the incident included Beasley pointing an assault weapon at his family during a home tour.
According to The Athletic’s Jon Krawczynski, Beasley’s legal issues didn’t seem to deter the restricted free agent from a deal. With Beasley’s return, he joins a suddenly loaded backcourt that also acquired D’Angelo Russell at last year’s trade deadline and selected Anthony Edwards with the No. 1 overall pick in the NBA Draft on Wednesday.
