Another comeback attempt came up short for the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday night as Minnesota fell to the New York Knicks 103-99.
The Knicks took control of the game from the opening tip-off as Julius Randle led the way. The Knicks forward had a big game with 25 points and 14 rebounds as New York took a 61-50 lead into halftime.
The Knicks continued to stifle the Wolves in the second half and built a 21-point lead in the fourth quarter. That’s Minnesota made its move behind Karl-Anthony Towns.
Towns scored 15 of his 27 points in the fourth quarter and added 15 rebounds on the night to spur a 22-5 run that helped give the Timberwolves a 96-95 lead with just under three minutes remaining.

Both teams went back-and-forth down the stretch as the Knicks took the lead with a pair of free throws from Randle and Alec Burks.
With the chance to tie the game, Ricky Rubio opted to go for a quick basket and was fouled. Rubio missed the second of his two free throws and Burks knocked down two more free throws to seal the victory.
The Timberwolves fell to 7-24 with the loss and will will travel to Milwaukee on Tuesday night.
