When the Timberwolves lost Zach LaVine to a season-ending injury, it appeared Minnesota’s playoff chances were zero.
According to FiveThirtyEight.com, the Timberwolves had a less than 1 percent chance of making the playoffs as of February 11. Fast forward to March 11 and now the Wolves have a 10% chance to make the post season.
Minnesota has posted a 7-3 record in that span with wins against the following teams: Denver, Dallas, Utah, Los Angeles Clippers and Golden State. All teams that are currently ahead of the Wolves in the west.
Now they’ll have their turn against eastern conference playoff teams, as their next three games are against, Milwaukee, Washington and Boston.
As of Saturday March 11, the wolves are 2.5 games back of the No. 8 seed in the West with a record of 27-37.
