There aren’t many teams in the NBA that get excited about a .500 record. Those teams haven’t been near the bottom of the NBA for half a decade — the Wolves have. That’s why a .500 record is getting so much attention. Kevin Love isn’t buying into the hype, and he wants everyone else on the team to forget about .500 and focus on playing basketball.
Head coach Rick Adelman is using practice to keep the players’ attention off the team’s record. One area of focus is on the half court offense. As a matter of fact, Adelman spent Thursday’s entire practice drilling the team with half court sets.
Minnesota hits the road for a game in New Jersey on Friday night. The road has been kind to the Wolves this season. Oddly enough, they have as many wins on the road as they do at home. The reason for the Wolves home struggles? “I wish I knew”, Adelman said.
Another option to push the Wolves closer to a .500 record is making a roster move. Trading Michael Beasley has been a popular opinion on message boards, but David Kahn believes it’s time to let the roster “breathe.”
