Ja Morant’s 26-foot 3-pointer at the end of the first half capped off a 7-2 run in a second quarter that saw Memphis turn a one-point deficit into an 11-point lead.
Memphis proceeded to methodically pull away from the Wolves throughout the second half off the back Morant’s 32-point night.
Anthony Edwards, fresh off his first All-Star selection, couldn’t live up to the new billing as Memphis shut him down for just 17 points and Minnesota lost 128-107.

Wolves new point guard Mike Conley Jr. made his debut but didn’t make much of an impact in a nine point, three assist night.
After a career-high 30 points Wednesday night in Utah, Jaylen Nowell once again was an important offensive piece for the Wolves in a 21-point effort in the loss.
The Wolves now drop to ninth place in the West with a tough road game against Dallas on Monday night.
