The Timberwolves came back from a 23-point deficit on Saturday night, but their effort came up short as they fell to the Oklahoma City Thunder 120-118.
Coming off of an emotional victory on Friday night, the Timberwolves came out flat to start Saturday’s game. The Thunder opened with a 13-2 run and raced out to a 43-24 lead after the first quarter and an 83-62 lead at halftime.
When the Timberwolves came out of the locker room for the second half, they looked like a different team. Naz Reid led the charge, scoring the first 13 points of the third quarter on his way to a career-high 29 points.

Reid jump-started the Wolves as they outscored the Thunder 32-13 in the third quarter. As the Timberwolves had new life, another unexpected hero in Jake Layman came alive with 16 points off the bench.

The total effort helped the Wolves come back on a night where D’Angelo Russell sat out for load management.
With the Wolves and Thunder going back and forth down the stretch, the Wolves found Reid at the rim but couldn’t convert on a game-tying bucket with two seconds remaining as the Timberwolves fell to 6-17 on the season.
Minnesota will look to rebound on Monday when they travel to face the Dallas Mavericks.
