The Minnesota Timberwolves squandered a 22-point lead and ended up losing to the Phoenix Suns 127-120 Sunday afternoon at Target Center, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
The Wolves led 118-115 after two free throws by Ricky Rubio with 1:56 left in the game, but the Suns scored the next seven points to take a 122-118 lead with 32.7 seconds left, according to the Star Tribune.
Kevin Love scored 36 points and had 14 rebounds and nine assists.
The Suns, a game behind Memphis for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference, won for the fifth time in their past six games.
The Wolves (34-34) are now back at .500 and are 10th in the conference, with their playoff hopes dimming.
