A record-setting crowd is expected at U.S. Bank Stadium’s first regular season game. And the ticket market is red hot. StubHub reports that the highest priced ticket to this coming Sunday’s Green Bay-Minnesota game was going for $10,116.94. The lowest price found was $225. The Vikings are warning fans to be on the alert for fake tickets and counterfeit tickets on the market.
The Vikings say:
“The Minnesota Vikings remind fans to be aware of the large number of counterfeit or fraudulent tickets sold to Vikings games and other high-profile events around the country each year. These tickets are typically sold over the Internet and by ticket sellers near stadiums on game day. Because of the Vikings ticket-scanning process, if a fan purchases a counterfeit ticket, he/she may not be able to access the stadium and could be subject to an investigation. If a person is already in the stadium and is caught in possession of a fraudulent ticket, he/she will be ejected and could be subject to arrest.”
The Vikings and Packers have started the season with wins and Green Bay has won three of the four meetings since head coach Mike Zimmer arrived in Minnesota. The Vikings say the game is officially a sellout at 66,200 seats sold. That will break the Vikings game attendance record of 64,482 set in a 2003 Metrodome game against the Packers.
