Kevin Durant had a huge night for the Oklahoma City Thunder as he led them to a 115-111 win over the Timberwolves.
Durant finished with 48 points to lead the way. With his team trailing by 10 after three quarters Durant took over in the fourth as he scored 23 points in the final frame alone.
Durant also grabbed seven rebounds and dished out seven assists. Derek Fischer added 13 points and Serge Ibaka had 12.
The Timberwolves were a little more balanced as Kevin Love, Nikola Pekovic and Ricky Rubio all posted double-double’s. Love finished with 30 points and 14 rebounds, Pekovic had 31 and 11. Rubio played one of this best games of the year, finishing with 13 points, 10 assists and five steals.
Unfortunately for the Wolves that effort wasn’t enough. Love and the Wolves had chances down the stretch, but he missed four free throws in the final 27 seconds.
The Wolves (16-17) are back in action on Monday at Philadelphia.
