Vikings wide receiver Stefon Diggs has been in uniform at practice – according to reports – but he still hasn’t been able to physically practice with the team.
When asked if he’s able to play this week, Diggs said on Thursday, “It’s kinda up in the air right now.” He added that he’s been able to do a little bit more and more each day of practice. Whatever the heck that means…
There’s no denying Diggs is one of the most explosive playmakers on Minnesota’s offense and the Vikings are successful when he’s on the field.
Minnesota has posted a record of 23-15 when Diggs is active and a record of 5-2 when he’s out, according to Vikings PR.
However, three of those games in which he was inactive was during his rookie year, when he wasn’t deemed by coaches to be ready for the NFL at the time – so they don’t really count.
Diggs is entering his third season in the NFL, but he’s yet to play in a full season since coming into the league.
The 23-year-old receiver is averaging 80 yards per game this season and when paired with Adam Thielen, the Vikings have one of the best receiving duos in the league.
Thielen is pacing the NFC in receiving this season with 488 yards.
The Baltimore Ravens trot to town this weekend and their pass defense is one of the best in league – as they have allowed just 189 yards through the air which is the fifth best mark in the NFL.
So hopefully Diggs can suit up or the Vikings offense could have a tough time on Sunday.
