Willmar: Jacque Jones in the Northwoods League
The ex-Twins outfielder isn’t playing in the Northwoods League, one of the best summer wooden bat leagues for college players, but he is traveling from team-to-team greeting fans and throwing out first pitches. He’s already been in Mankato and Willmar and he’ll be in St. Cloud today. Jones played in a similar summer league and credited the experience as a key piece to his eventual career to the big leagues.

Minnetonka: 2011 grad receives rare NCAA scholarship
Carolyn Draayer was selected for an NCAA postgraduate scholarship. Only 58 winter sports student-athletes were nominated in the country to receive the scholarship. Draayer is a 2011 Minnetonka graduate, and is a senior at Gustavus Adolphus College. She scored 89 points in 111 career games for the Gustavus hockey team.
