Surf the web for a few minutes and you’ll quickly notice that very few people expected the Vikings to get thumped by the 49ers on Monday Night Football.
Well, it happened and the Vikings are staring down the barrel of a dismal beginning to what now looks like a rough stretch of games ahead.
Detroit, Minnesota’s opponent at TCF Bank Stadium this Sunday, gave the Chargers all they could handle in San Diego; in fact, the Lions (0-1) should have won if not for blowing a 21-3 lead. The Vikings then host the Chargers (1-0) in Week 3 and before traveling to Denver to play the Broncos (1-0) and their stingy defense.
It’s early, but the pounding the 49ers put on the Vikings Monday night isn’t exactly a filter for hope. Meanwhile, here’s some opinions from around the country.
