Joe Nelson is the co-owner and editor of Bring Me The News, Bring Me The Sports, and Bring Me The Weather. With over twenty years of experience in Minnesota sports journalism, Nelson began his career in sports radio, working at smaller stations in Marshall and St. Cloud before moving to the highly-rated KFAN-FM 100.3 in the Twin Cities. While there, he produced the popular mid-morning show hosted by Minnesota Vikings play-by-play announcer Paul Allen. His time in radio laid the groundwork for his transition to sports writing when he joined Bring Me The News in 2011.
In 2018, Nelson, along with Adam Uren, took ownership of Bring Me The News and expanded its digital presence through a partnership with Sports Illustrated. He has covered major events such as the Super Bowl, NFL combines, MLB All-Star Game, and various Minnesota playoff games, all while providing daily sports coverage.
Recently, Nelson has been producing sports talk videos focused on Minnesota’s major teams, including the Vikings, Timberwolves, Gophers, and Twins. You can find the videos at the Bring Me The Sports YouTube channel.
