The USA men’s basketball team defeated Spain on Friday night 82-76 to advance to the gold medal game at the Olympics in Rio. It’s the sixth time in the last seven Olympics that the USA will play in the gold medal game.
Klay Thompson had a team-high 22 points and DeAndre Jordan was a force on the glass, grabbing 16 rebounds in 27 minutes of play. Overall, Team USA pulled down 52 rebounds, 20 of them on the offensive side.
Pau Gasol led the way for Spain with a game-high 23 points and 8 rebounds but Spain struggled to keep up with a much bigger USA team.

Timberwolves point guard Ricky Rubio had another tough game in the Olympics. He found himself in foul trouble early and scored zero points in 14 minutes of play.
In a recent interview with the AP, Rubio opened up about how difficult it was to play in the Olympics after the death of his mother.
Team USA will battle Serbia on Sunday for the gold medal.
