The University of Minnesota announced in a press conference today that the 2014 Hockey City Classic will be held at TCF Bank Stadium Friday, January 17.
The Gopher women will open the outdoor doubleheader by playing Minnesota State at 4:30 p.m., followed by the men hosting Ohio State at 7 p.m.
The women’s team has never played an outdoor game, while the men played in the inaugural event this past February, losing to border rival Wisconsin 3-2.
Tickets will be available to the public October 22, and start at $15. The Classic will be be part of the Winter Festival, which will host youth, high school, and adult hockey events.
