You might expect a handwritten letter from an orphan wanting to be adopted would tug on the heart strings.
But when a teenaged basketball fan abandoned by his hometown squad asked all 30 NBA teams to invite him into the fold, only one responded.
Now 16-year-old Connor from Bellingham, Washington, is apparently the newest fan of the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Connor recently embarked on a mission to find a new favorite team, having lost the Seattle SuperSonics several years ago when they relocated to Oklahoma City.
As shown in a photo gallery he posted, the “Why should I become your fan?” letters he wrote were not printed out en masse. No, these were handwritten notes with research tailored to each team and a drawing of their logo at the bottom of the letter.
Here’s what he wrote to the Timberwolves:

The response from Timberwolves President Chris Wright came along with a basketball autographed by the team’s players.
Connor – obviously a savvy fan – recognized that the signatures were not of this year’s Wolves, but were from a few years back. But Connor writes in his post that he doesn’t mind because they include Luke Ridnour, a fellow Washingtonian who grew up in the town down the road from Connor.

Wright asks Connor to “Please make sure to let us know which team has earned your ‘fandom.'”
And while Connor’s post doesn’t explicitly crown the T-Wolves as his new team, he does mention how much he likes Andrew Wiggins and says wolves are his favorite animal.
Sounds like he may have found a new pack.
