The Timberwolves lost in buzzer-beater fashion to the Suns, 91-89 Monday in the Las Vegas Summer League.
Marcus Morris hit the winning shot with a 20-foot jumper as time expired. It completed a monster comeback for the Suns, who trailed by as many as 24 points in the first half.
Wolves’ rookies Shabazz Muhammad and Gorgui Dieng didn’t fare very well.
Muhammad scored eight points on 3-8 shooting in 22 minutes as a starter. Dieng really struggled, going scoreless with four fouls and five turnovers in 11 minutes off the bench.
Ex-Purdue star Robbie Hummel led the Wolves with 18 points.
Minnesota (0-2) plays the Miami Heat at 3:00 p.m. CT on Tuesday.
