The Timberwolves’ losing streak has hit 13 games as they fell to Phoenix Wednesday night 113-111 at Target Center.
The Wolves had a chance in the closing seconds as Chase Budinger found Andrew Wiggins on the right wing, but his game-winning three sailed a little long and the Wolves fell again.
Phoenix’s Markieff Morris’ step back jumper with a minute to play put the Suns up three, then Eric Bledsoe stole an inbounds pass out of a timeout to push the Suns lead to five.
Phoenix trailed by 13 in the third, but rallied early in the fourth and took their first lead since early in the game on a three from Gerald Green with just under nine minutes to go.

Green finished with 21, sparking the Suns’ comeback. Goran Dragic led the Suns with 25 and Bledsoe chipped in with 16 on the night.
Mo Williams led the Wolves with a double-double – 23 points and 11 assists. Williams knocked down four three-pointers in the loss.
Wiggins’ game-winning miss was the only blemish on his night. He scored added 25 in his fifth straight 20-point game, and Anthony Bennett played well with a double-double 14 points and 10 rebounds.
The Wolves did get some good news on the injury front. According to the Star Tribune, both Nikola Pekovic and Kevin Martin, who were out with injuries, participated in Wednesday’s practice with contact.
Saunders told the newspaper that both did well, but there’s no timetable yet for their possible return.
The Wolves (5-29) travel to Milwaukee to play the Bucks (19-18) on Friday night.
