Joe Berger might be snapping the football to Teddy Bridgewater when the Vikings open the season Monday Night at San Francisco.
Berger, the primary backup to starting center John Sullivan, would presumably get the nod if Sullivan’s back spasms don’t allow him to get back on the field.
According to Star Tribune, Sullivan missed practice Tuesday and hasn’t practiced in exactly three weeks because of his back. He’s missed 12 consecutive practices.
Norv Turner said center John Sullivan wouldn't need long to get ready "from a mental standpoint, it's just a day-to-day thing" physically.

Minnesota has Wednesday off before practicing again Thursday, Friday and Saturday, ESPN notes.
Head coach Mike Zimmer didn’t know on Monday whether Sullivan would feel well enough to start the season opener, but he did express optimism that Sullivan was feeling better and didn’t rule out a return to practice on Tuesday, which didn’t come to fruition.
Sullivan has not missed a regular season game since Oct. 23, 2011, at Green Bay, the Pioneer Press reports.
