UPDATE THURSDAY PRACTICE
The same players who missed practice on Tuesday did not practice again on Thursday.
Original story
No reason to push the panic button just yet but Minnesota’s top two playmakers are on the Vikings’ injury report this week.
Wide receiver Stefon Diggs did not practice Wednesday because of a knee injury and fellow wide receiver, Adam Thielen, was limited in practice because of a calf injury.
Diggs missed Minnesota’s Nov. 4 game against Detroit because of bruised ribs, but he apparently dinged up his knee in Sunday night’s win over the Packers.
Thielen has been dealing with the calf injury for weeks and it’s unlikely to keep him out of Sunday’s 3:25 p.m. kickoff at New England.
Cornerback Xavier Rhodes (hamstring) did not practice Wednesday but head coach Mike Zimmer is on record saying he’s optimistic that Rhodes will be able to play this week, which is stunning considering there was speculation that he ripped his hammy and might need season-ending surgery.
Linebacker Ben Gedeon was limited on Wednesday as he works his way back from a concussion.
