Entering last season, Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs were nowhere to be found in preseason conversations regarding the best wide receiver duos in the NFL.
Things have changed, and ESPN (Insider only) is using data to back their claim that Diggs and Thielen are the best duo in the league entering the 2018 season.
“Diggs led all receivers in contested catch rate (64.5 percent), while Thielen ranked in the top six, meaning they led the league in contested catch rate as a duo. They were the only wide receiver pairing to both rank inside the top 10 in overall PFF grade in 2017.”
ESPN’s rankings were based on data and grading from Pro Football Focus.

In mid-November of last season, Diggs and Thielen were putting up such fantastic numbers that we wrote a story comparing their production to the early-season numbers Cris Carter and Randy Moss put up in 1998.
The praise also comes on the heels of Diggs being voted by his peers as the 65th best player in the league in NFL Network’s Top 100 list.
