On Wednesday it was announced that the city of St. Cloud will host next year’s Hockey Day in Minnesota. It’s the first time the Granite City will host the annual event.

Next year’s event will be the 12th annual celebration which includes high school, college and professional games.
“Hockey Day is an exciting opportunity to celebrate St. Cloud and the legends and stories that comprise its 100-year hockey history,” said St. Cloud Mayor Dave Kleis.
The outdoor games will be played on Lake George, which is located in St. Cloud’s historic south side neighborhood.
Every year the Wild team up with Fox Sports North to broadcast games throughout the entire day. Last year’s Hockey Day was held in Stillwater.
