Tampa Bay scored five runs off reliever Tim Wood in the eighth inning Tuesday en route to a 8-5 comeback win over Minnesota in Grapefruit League play, according to MLB.com.
Wood, looking for a spot in Minnesota’s bullpen, came in to protect the lead — but struggled.
Minnesota starter Liam Hendricks, making his third start of the spring, gave up two runs on four hits over three innings. Hendricks, who is battling for a spot in the Twins revamped rotation, was pleased. In his words: “Everything is coming along.”
