10. The Gophers women’s hockey team swept St. Cloud State in their first-round series of the WCHA playoffs. Minnesota moves on to the semifinals where they’ll play a best-of-three series against Minnesota-Duluth beginning Friday. The Gopher men swept Penn State in their home finale.
9. The brackets are set for the 2014 Minnesota State High School League boys’ hockey State Tournament.
8. Twins power-hitting prospect Miguel Sano needs Tommy John surgery. He’ll miss the entire 2014 season.
7. Former Vikings wide receiver Randy Moss is the proud father of Sydney Moss, who set an NCAA Division III record with 63 points in a game.
6. Ricky Nolasco looked good with two scoreless innings in his debut with the Twins on Sunday.
5. The Big Ten women’s conference tournament starts this week and the Gophers earned the No. 6-seed. They play No. 11-seed Wisconsin at 8 p.m. Thursday in Indianapolis.
4.NFL Network fired Darren Sharper. The former Packers, Vikings and Saints safety has been accused of raping multiple women in multiple states.
3. Minnesota basketball legend and head coach of the Houston Rockets Kevin McHale is lobbying for the NBA to raise the age limit. He thinks the one-and-done rule in college is a joke.
2. The Michigan Wolverines closed out the Gophers with a dominant final two minutes to send Richard Pitino and company into a must-win regular season finale this Saturday against Penn State.
