Kevin Garnett has never been one to shy away from trash talk or a little bit of pushing and shoving.
He and Knicks forward Andrea Bargnani did plenty of that last night when New York met Brooklyn in a battle of floundering teams.
It started when Bargnani drove past Garnett and threw down a one-hand slam early in the first-quarter that elicited a great reaction from the Knicks bench.
We love the enthusiasm.
The two then tangled on a rebound in a scrum that saw Garnett put his hands in the air as if to say “I didn’t do anything,” right after taking a swipe at Bargnani’s head.
They both got technical fouls, and the scrap triggered always-entertaining TNT commentator Charles Barkley to fire off a few hilarious one-liners.
“See, listen, don’t they realize we got stuff to do later, they’re not gonna fight…there’s not a fighter in that group out there…You know I hate that fake stuff.”
Classic Chuck.
The final straw for Bargnani came just seconds later, as he hit a corner three and turned to Garnett to trash talk the former Wolf.
Referee Joey Crawford was having none of it, sending Bargnani to the locker room after giving the Italian big man his second technical foul in less than a minute.

Barkley’s response: “Joey would call a technical on one of his kids.”
Garnett postgame on what Bargnani may have said: “I don’t speak Italian.”
