Rough night, even by hockey standards, but it makes for great video.
As NBC’s Pro Hockey Talk explains, Winnipeg Jets defensemen Andy Pardy had his helmet taken by a fan after the defenseman was hit through the glass in the third period of Wednesday’s game against the Chicago Blackhawks at the United Center.
Brandon Bollig caught Pardy with the big hit, dislodging the glass in the corner. In the ensuing kerfuffle, Pardy’s helmet was snatched – yanked? – from his head by a fan, who naturally put the thing on. Hey, buddy, go ahead! It’s all yours! And a woman then dumps her beer on him.
The Chicago Tribune’s hockey writer tweeted some pretty classic quotes from Pardy.
#NHLJets' Adam Pardy: "I don’t know what happened to my stick either. That got lost in the crowd too. A ltitle insult to injury there."
