The Minnesota Timberwolves will go another year without an NBA All-Star. The league announced the All-Star reserves Thursday evening and there were no Wolves included – not even Karl-Anthony Towns.
It’s a snub job for Towns, who is averaging 22.4 points and nearly 12 rebounds per game for the Wolves, who enter Thursday night’s game winners of three straight.
Part of the problem for Towns is a crowded front court in the Western Conference. Anthony Davis, DeMarcus Cousins, Marc Gasol and DeAndre Jordan all are on the All-Star roster.
Towns will still have a role to play during NBA All-Star Weekend. He’ll get to match up with Joel Embid during the Rising Stars Challenge on Saturday.
The last Wolves player to play in an All-Star Game was Kevin Love in 2014. Speaking of which, if Towns’ snub wasn’t bad enough for Wolves’ fans, look who was named an Eastern Conference All-Star Thursday.
