The St. Paul Saints have been forced to cancel their home opener for the second consecutive season.
The Saints announced Thursday that Friday’s scheduled home opener against the Columbus Clippers has been canceled due to the snow that accumulated over the weekend, making the field unplayable.
The game will not be rescheduled or made up.
Instead, the Saints plan to play their home opener on Saturday against the Clippers, which is set for a 2:07 p.m. first pitch. Fans who purchased tickets for Friday’s home opener will have vouchers placed in their accounts equal to the value of their tickets purchased. The tickets will need to be exchanged in person at the box office.
The Saints had a baby blue hoodie giveaway scheduled for the home opener that will instead take place on April 12. The first 2,000 fans in attendance will receive a hoodie.
