A 107-100 loss to the Phoenix Suns has left the Minnesota Timberwolves in seventh place in the West with just five games remaining in the season.
Despite having a 10-point lead at one point in the third quarter, a sequence of sloppy play let Phoenix back in, with the Wolves turning the ball over 21 times on the night.
The illness-hit Wolves were without Taurean Prince, Austin Rivers and Matt Ryan, with Kyle Anderson a late inclusion having been questionable, while Jaylen Nowell missed out with a knee ailment.
Karl-Anthony Towns scored 12 of his 25 points in the second quarter but it was Anthony Edwards who was the star for the Wolves scoring 31 off 13-22 shooting.

Minnesota held Kevin Durant to just 18 points in his home debut as he opened the game 0-6 shooting, finishing the game 5-18 from the field.
But it was not enough for the Wolves, whose four-game winning streak came to an end as the race for the playoffs remains incredibly tight.
The Wolves now return home for a massive game against the Los Angeles Lakers Friday night with tip off set for 7 p.m., with LeBron James’ team just half a game behind the Wolves in eighth place.
