Minnesota Vikings offensive lineman Matt Kalil and wide receiver Jerome Simpson have a message for Christian Ponder-bashers.
They say the Vikings’ third-year quarterback is way more confident this year, compared to last year.
Appearing on KFAN-FM 100.3 in Mankato this morning, Kalil says Ponder has done an amazing job in off-season workouts.
“I know he’s fired up and ready to kill it out there,” Kalil said.
Simpson concurs, telling play-by-play man Paul Allen that he’s certain Ponder will lead a “dynamic” offense in the 2013 season.
“He’s more confident now,” Simpson said. “He’s gettin’ the dog in him.”
As for Simpson, he says he’s 100 percent recovered from his recent back problems heading into training camp.
“Most certainly you’ll get a different guy,” said Simpson, who also served a three-game suspension at the beginning of the 2012 season for a drug-related arrest. “I’m just excited to be here and be a Viking.”
