We’re not sure this deserves a ton of reaction, but one Sports Illustrated writer thinks the next defensive breakout star in the NFL will a Viking.
SI.com’s Andy Benoit writes that defensive end Everson Griffen could have an amazing season.
The fourth-year Vikings defensive end has sensational speed and pliable body control. He can play anywhere along the defensive front. If afforded enough playing time, Griffen will have a 15-sack season.
He said it, not us.
It’s an extremely bold prediction considering Griffen isn’t even a starter on the Vikings’ depth chart. He backs up Jared Allen and Brian Robison.
Griffen had a career best eight sacks last season.
