The Minnesota Twins fell to the Boston Red Sox 1-0, in the series opener at Fenway Park.
Boston starter Jorge de le Rosa held the Twins to one hit over seven innings. He walked and struck out three.
Twins starter Kevin Correia had a strong performance too. A.J. Pierzynski’s sacrifice fly to score Daniel Nava in the fifth inning was the only run Correia gave up in six innings of work. Correia held Boston to five hits, he struck out two and walked just one.
But the outing wasn’t good enough, Correia was still tagged with the loss.
It was the third straight loss for the Twins.

The Twins did put a threat together in the eighth after de le Rosa left the game.
Kurt Suzuki reached on the Twins second hit of the night, he was followed by Sam Fuld who hit a double. Danny Santana was hit by a pitch to load the bases for Brian Dozier. But, Dozier didn’t come through, and the shutout remained in tact.
Koji Uehara pitched a perfect ninth to pick up the save.
The Twins and Red Sox continue the series on Tuesday evening.
