Hollywood couldn’t have scripted a better start to the Sunday night border battle between the Vikings and Packers.
A must-win game for both teams, the Vikings set the tone inside a sold-out U.S. Bank Stadium by sending their No. 1 quarterback to the Ghallarhorn platform to sound the Vikings horn before the opening kickoff. But it wasn’t Kirk Cousins blowing the horn, it was his alter ego Kirko Chainz, the blinged-out, shirtless superhero who hadn’t been seen in nearly a year.
Cousins, with a high-pitch scream echoing through the cavernous stadium, led the Skol chant and then blew the horn.

Cousins hasn’t played since suffering a torn Achilles in his right leg in Minnesota’s win at Lambeau Field over the Packers on Oct. 29. There’s a chance that his appearance Sunday night was his last as a Vikings because he’s due to become a free agent when the NFL offseason begins.
