A huge win for the Minnesota Lynx Tuesday night as they used a 30-12 fourth quarter burst to top the Atlanta Dream 85-69 to snap a four-game losing streak.
Seimone Augustus stole the headlines by making her 2019 debut, finishing with eight points and four assists, but it was rookie first-round pick Napheesa Collier who led the way with 22 points and 11 rebounds, including 12 points in the fourth quarter.
Sylvia Fowles added 12 points and 11 rebounds, and Odyssey Sims scored 13 points.
The win gets Minnesota back to .500 at 11-11, good for eighth place in the WNBA playoff race. They’re 2.5 games ahead of ninth-place New York, and just a half-game from jumping Seattle and Phoenix for sixth in the standings.
The top eight teams make the playoffs. The top two teams get a double bye while teams seed third and fourth get a bye into the second round. The bottom four contenders, seeds 5-8, open postseason play with single elimination games.
Minnesota is back in action Friday against the red-hot Connecticut Sun, who has won seven straight. The game at Target Center will be televised on CBS Sports Network.
