Minnesota native Adam Thielen may be in his final hours under contract with the Minnesota Vikings.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Vikings and Adam Thielen could go their separate ways, with an official announcement possible in the coming days. Shefter said there’s a “real possibility” of the Vikings parting ways with Thielen, allowing him to test the market as a free agent.
“The two sides will talk in the coming days, but his time in Minnesota could be coming to an end,” Schefter said.

Thielen’s contract carries a $19.9 million cap hit in 2023 and the Vikings can save $6.4 million if they cut him before June 1, which if it were going to happen it would happen before his contract fully guarantees in mid-March. March 16 to be exact.
“I’d love to finish my career with Minnesota. I grew up in Minnesota, played my whole career there so far. At the end of the day, I feel like I can still play at a high level. I feel like I prove that every single day,” Thielen said on The Pat McAfee Show in February.
According to Ben Goessling of the Star Tribune, the two sides have discussed a restructured deal but “a release is a real possibility.”
