With the NBA Draft fast approaching, the Timberwolves are checking out the pre-draft Scouting Combine in Chicago to watch and interact with draft hopefuls.
Wolves president of basketball operations Flip Saunders joined Dan Barreiro on KFAN-FM 100.3 Friday to discuss the players he’s interested in.
Alex Len, Ben McLemore, Shabazz Muhammad, Otto Porter, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Michael Carter-Williams are some of the names Saunders interviewed.
One player Saunders didn’t get a chance to meet with is Indiana’s Victor Oladipo, who Saunders called the most “NBA-ready” player available.
The Wolves own two picks in the first-round — No. 9 and No. 26. There is a slight chance of pick No. 9 improving in Tuesday’s lottery.
Ex-Gopher Trevor Mbakwe is participating at the Combine.
