It sounds like Kevin Love will be in the Timberwolves lineup for a while.
That conclusion, after Love spent a good part of his morning doing sports radio.
The first appearance was on ESPN’s Mike & Mike show, with Love filling in as a host. He told listeners that he’s committed to Minnesota and the Timberwolves and sees “a bright future” — with he, Ricky Rubio and Nikola Pekovic emerging as a “Big 3” in the NBA.
Timberwolves president of basketball operations, Flip Saunders, then called in to inform Love that he won’t be traded.
“Maybe people will stop calling me now,” Saunders said.
Later in the morning, Love called into Paul Allen’s show on KFAN-FM 100.3.
Love told Allen that after an injury-filled year he’s feeling “great” now and plans on being on the court soon for full-contact workouts.
Love also told Allen that he hopes to be in the Timberwolves war room during the upcoming NBA Draft.
The Wolves have the 9th overall pick, and Love is looking to offer his opinions to Wolves brass along the way.
“I’m just ready to stay humble, continue to do all the right things and really just put on for this organization,” Love told Allen. “Because that’s what everybody deserves.”
