The Gophers volleyball team is moving to the Elite 8. They polished off Illinois Friday night in the Sweet 16 in three sets. Minnesota won the match 25-22, 25-23, 25-17.
1. Santana on the attack
The Gophers leader and the Big Ten Player of the Year didn’t disappoint. She had a double-double before the end of the second set. Santana finished the night with 17 kills and 15 digs.
She led the Gophers attack that hit .339 on the night.
"(Santana) let everyone know that we're here to battle. She's a great leader on the court." Wilhite, talking about Daly in the first set.

2. Wilhite has a big night
Sarah Wilhite also put together a solid night. Her attack balanced out the Gophers opposite of Santana. She hammered 20 kills in the the set victory.
On the night, Wilhite hit .500 for the night.
