The Minnesota Twins lost their second straight game on Wednesday night. They were beaten by the Los Angeles Angels 6-2, in Anaheim.
Not only did the Twins lose the game, they also appear to have lost their leadoff hitter and rookie shortstop Danny Santana. He left the game with “knee soreness.” Santana was injured after a double in the third inning, he could not continue.
He has been a spark plug for the Twins on the year, hitting .328 with two home runs and 10 doubles.
Yohan Pino didn’t provide the Twins with a second solid start. The 30-year-old rookie was hit around pretty hard in the second and third innings.
Oswaldo Arcia gave the Twins a brief 1-0 lead. He broke an 0-for-31 slump with a solo-home run in the top of the second inning.

But the Angels answered back for three runs off of Pino. Eric Aybar led the inning off with a double, he scored on a sacrifice fly from Grant Green. The Angels weren’t satisfied though, they added a pair of two-out runs on a double from Kole Calhoun to take a 3-1 lead.
The Angels then added two more off Pino in the third and built a 5-1 lead. He gave up five runs on seven hits in just three innings.
That was more than enough runs for Garrett Richards (8-2). The hard-throwing righty has been tough on the season, he held the Twins to two runs on four hits, over 7 1/3 innings of work.

After winning four in a row at home over the White Sox, the Twins have now lost two straight to the Angels.
The final game of the series is Thursday afternoon. Ricky Nolasco will face Jared Weaver in the final game of the series.
