The Minnesota Twins weren’t able to complete a sweep of the Texas Rangers. Texas rallied to beat the Twins 6-5 Thursday afternoon at Target Field.
Twins starter Ervin Santana was not able to hold onto a 4-0 lead, as he gave up five runs on eight hits in six innings.
Trailing 5-4 in the sixth inning, Minnesota had a chance to take the lead. Aaron Hicks singled to center to score the tying run and Shane Robinson was coming around to give the Twins the lead, but he was thrown out at the plate – or was he?

With the game tied at 5, Casey Fien (2-5) gave up the go-ahead run in the eighth, he was tagged with the loss.
Mitch Moreland had a big afternoon for the Rangers, he was 4-for-4 with a two-run homer and a two-run double. Adrian Beltre was 3-for-4 with three runs scored.
No one in the Twins lineup had more than one hit. Eduardo Escobar was 1-for-3 with a pair of runs scored and Trevor Plouffe added a solo home run.
Trevor May (8-7) is moving back into the starting rotation. He will take the mound for the Twins as they open a weekend series against Cleveland.
Cory Kluber, who held Minnesota to three hits in his last outing gets the nod for Cleveland.
