The Minnesota Twins busted out the sticks and beat up the Rangers to win their second straight game 11-1 Wednesday night at Target Field.
The victory locked up Minnesota’s first series victory since the All-Star break.
Miguel Sano had a big night. He was 3-for-3 with a pair of home runs and six RBIs to lead the Twins to the decisive victory.
Aaron Hicks went 4-for-5 with a pair of RBIs and his seventh home run of the year. He also made an outstanding diving catch in the outfield late in the game.

Brian Dozier added a pair of doubles and an RBI, while Trevor Plouffe, Eddie Rosario, Kurt Suzuki and Eduardo Nunez also had two hits.
In all, the Twins pounded out 18 hits and gave more than enough run support to Twins starter Mike Pelfrey (6-7), who had a pretty good night himself.
So the Rangers are making Mike Pelfrey look like Cy Young and the Twins are making Nick Martinez look like Nick Tepesch.

Pelfrey pitched seven innings, holding the Rangers to one run on four hits, while striking out four. It was Pelfrey’s best start since the break as well.
A.J. Achter threw two innings of scoreless relief to close it out for Minnesota.
The win puts the Twins back over .500 at 57-56 and moves them within 2 1/2 games of the second American League Wild Card spot.
Ervin Santana (2-3) goes for the Minnesota sweep tomorrow against Chi Chi Gonzalez, who gets the start for Texas.
