The NFL schedule is being released Thursday night on NFL Network, but there are already reports and rumors spilling around on the internet, including a couple of sources telling Bring Me The Sports about a possible Thanksgiving Day game.
A source told Bring Me The Sports’ Chris Schad that the Vikings will play the New England Patriots on Thanksgiving Evening, which falls on Thursday, Nov. 24 this year. That would be Week 12 of the regular season.
The Vikings last played the Patriots in 2018. They haven’t beaten the Patriots since 2000, when Bill Belichick was in his first season as head coach of New England and Tom Brady was a rookie on the bench behind Drew Bledsoe.
A separate source tells BMTS that the Vikings will open the regular season with a mouthwatering Week 1 matchup with the Green Bay Packers at U.S. Bank Stadium.
The only games the Vikings have confirmed thus far are the Week 2 game between the Vikings and Eagles in Philadelphia, which will be part of a Monday Night Football doubleheader, and the Week 4 Vikings-Saints road game in London.
The full NFL schedule will be released at 7 p.m. Thursday.
