Vikings fans weary of hearing about potential trades involving running back Adrian Peterson had better brace themselves, because rumors are now also circling about another high profile member of the team.
The Daily Norseman reports the Vikings are rumored to be shopping wide receiver and return specialist Cordarrelle Patterson.
Peterson and Patterson were expected to be the cornerstones of an exciting Vikings offense last year, and during the Vikings season-opening 34-6 victory at St. Louis they appeared to be just that. Peterson ran for 75 yards on 21 carries, while Patterson rushed for 102 yards and a touchdown on three carries.
But that was about it. Peterson didn’t play again the rest of the season as he bounced from the commissioner’s exempt list to a league suspension, while Patterson virtually fell off the map offensively, losing his starting spot to Charles Johnson. By the end of the season even Adam Thielen was seeing more snaps.

Vikings coach Mike Zimmer spoke of a plan to have a mentor for Patterson in the offseason, but it seems that Minnesota might be open to moving him.

It’s still early in the offseason and – much like the Peterson situation – the rumors surrounding Patterson could linger awhile. We suggest you stay tuned.
