It looks like Ricky Rubio may be leading Spain into a showdown with the U.S. men’s basketball team.
Rubio and Spain destroyed France in the quarterfinals on Wednesday 92-67, and the Wolves guard played a critical role.
The point guard finished the afternoon with 6 points and 5 assists in 18 minutes. More impressive was his efficiency. Rubio was 2-of-2 from the floor, 1-of-1 from the 3-point line and made the only free throw he attempted.
Through six Olympic games, Rubio is now averaging 6.2 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists and 1.3 steals. He’s also shooting nearly 43 percent from the field.
The victory moves Spain into the semifinals in Rio.
