The Timberwolves celebrated Ricky Rubio’s return to the lineup Saturday night with a thrilling 114-106 overtime victory over the Dallas Mavericks at Target Center, The Associated Press reported.
The Wolves and Mavericks were tied at 102 at the end of regulation, but Minnesota turned up the heat in overtime for the eight-point victory.
Rubio scored eight points and pulled in four rebounds in his return. Nikola Pekovic led the Wolves overall with 21 points and nine rebounds to help propel the Wolves to their fourth-straight win.
Wolves star Kevin Love sat out because of illness. According to the Pioneer Press, Love was suffering from flu-like symptoms.
Rubio spent more than nine months of recovering from a major surgery to repair a torn ACL and LCL.
The Wolves improved to 12-9 with the win. They travel to Orlando Monday to take on the Magic at Amway Center.
