With the Lakers coming to town for a game against the Wolves Friday night, Ricky Rubio is standing up for fellow Spaniard Pau Gasol.
Gasol has been coming off the bench recently for L.A., and Rubio thinks it’s wrong. “He can pass. He can shoot. He can rebound. He can do a lot of things,” Rubio told reporters. “I think if you use him in the right way, he is a top player in this league. If they don’t want him, we are more than welcome to get him.”
Meanwhile the Lakers could be without Dwight Howard, who left Wednesday’s game against the Suns when he re-aggravated his shoulder injury.
That could be huge considering Minnesota has lost 19 straight to Los Angeles, the longest active streak in the NBA.
