The Minnesota Gophers football team is already adding to its next recruiting class. The latest addition to the team is Robbinsdale Cooper quarterback Phillip Howard.
He becomes the fourth player recruited in the 2016 class for the Gophers.
Howard made the announcement on this Twitter account Tuesday.

Howard is 5-foot-11 and 175 pounds. According to 247 Sports, he is a three-star recruit and has run the 40 in 4.40 seconds.

Howard had offers from several other regional schools including North Dakota State, North Dakota, Illinois State and Northern Iowa.
Minnesota 247 notes that he also was receiving strong interest from Wisconsin, Nebraska and Iowa State.
Howard is considered the No. 6 prospect in Minnesota and rated as the No. 71 overall ATH in the country.
All four of the Gophers commitments for the 2016 class to-date are from Minnesota.
